Unlocking new pathways for recovery and mental health.

Advocating for the advancement of science-backed policies that create safe access to ibogane in a culturally responsible manner.

We advocate for legislation that supports rigorous scientific research, establishes clear safety and clinical standards, and reduces stigma surrounding innovative treatment approaches for substance use and mental health challenges. By fostering collaboration among researchers, clinicians, policymakers, and affected communities, we seek to expand access to promising healing modalities while prioritizing patient safety, education, and ethical care.

Why ibogaine?

Ibogaine is a naturally occurring plant-derived compound from the Iboga that has drawn growing interest from researchers, clinicians, and patients for its promise in addressing complex health challenges, particularly substance use disorders and certain mental health conditions.

Early studies and observational data suggest that, when administered in carefully controlled clinical settings with appropriate medical oversight, ibogaine may help interrupt patterns of addiction, reduce withdrawal symptoms, and facilitate meaningful psychological insight.

Ibogaine is not a recreational substance, but rather a therapeutic tool whose effects appear to be most beneficial when paired with screening, monitoring, and integrative care.

Thoughtful regulation could enable rigorous research, establish safety standards, and expand access to promising treatments, while reducing stigma and supporting evidence-based approaches to healing and recovery.

Who we are

Colorado for Ibogaine comprises researchers, clinicians, philanthropists, and policymakers seeking to expand access to promising healing modalities to address our state’s mental health crisis. Through thoughtful policy reform, we aim to unlock new pathways for recovery, well-being, and public health in Colorado while fostering collaboration with affected communities and prioritizing patient safety, education, and cultural responsibility.

“A single ibogaine treatment administered in a clinically controlled medical setting…has the ability to resolve physiological opioid dependence within 36 to 48 hours for 80% of people who take a single treatment”

— W. Bryan Hubbard, Executive Director, Americans for Ibogaine
